Welcome to the Marching Mountaineers!

At 285 members strong, the Appalachian State University Marching Mountaineers are a source of pride and "Mountaineer spirit" for the ASU community. The Marching Mountaineers perform for over 20,000 fans at each home football game, provide support for the Mountaineers at select away games, and perform in exhibition at high school festivals. With a strong commitment to excellence in performance, the members of the band take great pride in being known as North Carolina's Band of Distinction!

  • August 3 – 5 Leadership Camp. ASU
  • August 6 Band Camp Move-in Date for All Rookies (first-year members), Drum Line, Guard, and Twirlers ASU
  • August 7 Band Camp Move-in Date for All Vets (returning members) ASU
  • August 8 – 14 Band Camp (continued), ASU
  • September 1 ASU @ Tennessee Knoxville, TN (Band will not travel)
  • September 10 ASU vs. Old Dominion, Boone
  • September 17 ASU vs. Miami (FL) Boone
  • September 24 ASU @ Akron Akron, OH (Band will not travel)
  • October 1 ASU vs. Georgia State, Boone
  • October 2 Homecoming Pep Rally, ASU (Friday night)
  • October 8 No football game
  • October 12 ASU @ UL-Lafayette Lafayette, LA (Band will not travel)
  • October 27 ASU @ Georgia Southern Statesboro, GA (Pep Band will travel)
  • October 29 Appalachian Marching Festival, Boone (Full Band performance 8:00pm)
  • November 5 ASU vs. Texas State, Boone
  • November 12 ASU @ Troy Troy, AL (Band will not travel)
  • November 19 Open Date (Free Weekend!)
  • November 26 ASU @ New Mexico State Las Cruces, AL
  • TBD BOWL GAME!

Additional information

  • All rehearsals (Band Camp and during the semester) are required.
  • Move-in times are 9:00am – 1:00pm on the report date. Rehearsals begin at 3:00pm that day.
  • All performances in BOLD are required.
  • We will be traveling to the bowl game over the Holiday Break in December.
  • There is no way at this point to predict when or where this will be, but it would
  • likely be one of these Bowl Games:
    • New Orleans Bowl (December 17 in New Orleans, LA)
    • Camellia Bowl (December 17 in Montgomery, AL)
    • Cure Bowl (December 17 in Orlando, FL)
    • GoDaddy Bowl (December 23 in Mobile, AL)
